Your questions answered
What's the difference between BYOK and Managed?
With Bring-Your-Own-Keys you connect your own Amazon SES, Twilio and push credentials. Messy orchestrates delivery, while you keep the provider relationship and pay them directly. Managed delivery (coming soon) routes sends through our own platform, so there are no provider accounts to wire up.
Can I move between plans?
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade at any time from your account billing page. Changes are prorated, and you keep all your data. Plans only change how Messy is hosted and how messages are delivered.
How does billing work?
Cloud plans are billed monthly by card through Stripe. You can cancel whenever you like and keep access until the end of the period. Every invoice, with VAT applied where required, is available to download from your account.
Is the self-hosted version really free?
Completely. The full platform is free to self-host under the Elastic License 2.0: run it, modify it, use it for your business with no seat limits or usage caps. The one thing the licence rules out is offering Messy itself to third parties as a hosted service. You only pay your messaging providers for what you send.
What if we need a commercial licence or help deploying it?
That's what our enterprise engagements cover: a commercial agreement and signed DPA, hands-on implementation and migration support, and custom development for channels or integrations we don't ship. See the enterprise page.
